SMWS 125.70 A Dram of Two Halves Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky SocietyYes, another The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling this time 125.70 A Dram of Two Halves a dram that was passed to me by Chris Miles (@chrismiles303) from Still Dramming.

From one of my alltime favourite distilleries this has notes that really are familiar to me and ones that just come alive in the glass that i really wasn't expecting, once again the beauty of the single cask.

I've said it before and I will again, if you like whisky, you shoul dbe a member of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

oh wow theres a really interesting nose here, there's a seaside brine that reminds me of the brine from a tin of Tuna, along with freshly crushed madagascan vanilla pods and an essence of good quality dessert wine creeping about in the background a hint of profiteroles completes the lovely nose here.

Palate

Lots of wood oak and spice are the first elements that grab you by the throat and shake you about before the cream file profiteroles come back in and a dash of sauternes wine, oh my this is wild and wonderful

Finish

chocolate croissants dipped in late harvest sauternes with a touch of candied almonds
