Glendronach 1991 Cask #5405 Review

Glendronach 1991 Cask #5405 Another lovely single cask dram from Glendronach, this is from the Batch 9 single cask series, and is the Glendronach 1991 Cask #5405 distilled on 22/11/1991 and matured in a PX sherry cask.

I've been avoiding some heavily sherried whiskies recently after finding i was regularly getting rubbery notes and wanted to check that i wasn't subconciously putting that into my own notes from a bad experience. I do think it has worked as i didn't get any rubbery notes in here.

There's some lovely fresh vanilla and fruit in here and although it's not my favourite ever Glendronach i could happily drink this for the rest of the week and beyond.

Many thanks to Glendronach for the official sample.

Initially there's a gentle note of freshly scraped vanilla pods covering fresh summer plums before a deeper melon and some dried fruits, raisins and apricots with a lick of fruit salad chews some treacle and a hint of sticking your nose into a bag of haribo sweets.
