SMWS 91.17 A Game of Two Halves Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society Yet another first time from a distillery as i tried this 91.17 when I popped into the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society venue on Queen St in Edinburgh last week to meet London Venue Manager Joe McGirr (@smwslondon) for a couple of drams and catch up.

A very interesting dram that really is so different on the nose to the palate, something that does happen a fair bit with whisky, this is a yummy dram and makes me very interested in trying more from this distillery.

I can't say it enough, if you're not a member of the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society then why not? you really should just go join now.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Theres quite a grassy note in here to begin with, reminds me of being at the riverbank jumping in and out during the summer as a kid, there's a sweetness underlying it which is toffee chews, like the soft werthers originals, creamy, toffee, buttery

Palate

ooooo lovely, this is those fruit salad chewy sweets you used to get wrapped up in a werthers original

Finish

more of the fruit salad sweets which grow and grow
