SMWS 63.28 Cherry Blossom Painting Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society I was lucky to pop into the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society venue on Queen St in Edinburgh last week to meet London Venue manager Joe McGirr (@smwslondon) for a couple of drams and catch up.

We went through a few drams, all of them brilliant, and this Cherry Blossom really lives up to the name on the bottle, and as my first from this particular distillery i really need to hunt out more to try.

I can't say it enough, if you're not a member of the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society then why not? you really should just go join now.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Initially i'm struck by a touch of spiky acetone, which subsides quickly and moves onto floral notes, a lovely fresh bouquet with some tomato plant leaves also before a dusty note comes in near the end.

Palate

oh this is very floral, marachino cherry, chrisanthanoms, tomato plant leaves.

Finish

lovely and sweet and has a hidden oaky hit
