Port Charlotte The Peat Project Review

Port Charlotte - The Peat Project I've been a big fan of Port Charlotte whiskies (or the peated Bruichladdichs) for a while now and this is a cracking example.

Peated to 44ppm this takes on some of the work Bruichladdich did with Bruichladdich Peat and Port Charlotte An Turas Mor and expands upon it.

Becoming very difficult to find now it is available to purchase from Hard To Find Whisky and this is a dram i would definitely recommend that you don't hold off trying to get if you want one.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

A really interesting nose which mixes antiseptic ointment with a full scottish breakfast, you can pick out the bacon and sausages, the black pudding and haggis and even the tattie scones, it even comes with a sweet sugary cup of breakfast tea.

Palate

Barley sugar sweets like my Mum used to like coated with a hint of chimney smoke and a dusting of cinnamon

Finish

Sweet and very floral
