Ben Nevis / Abbey Whisky

Ben Nevis 16yr / The Rare Casks (Abbey Whisky) Review

Ben Nevis 16 / The rare Casks The last time i had one of Abbey Whiskies Rare Casks series was in February and i instantly fell in love with it and now it's time to try the third in their series.

Tasted as part of a Tweet Tasting organised by Steve Rush (@thewhiskywire) from The Whisky Wire.

A damn nice dram and i'd highly recommend anyone to get one.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

initially very fruity, with plums, prunes and sultanas herby with parsley and thyme and maybe a little rosemary there's a hint of meatiness and bitter dark chocolate covered in treacle scone dough mix

Palate

reminds me of my grans homemade clootie dumpling orange peel plum jam and touches of spice, this really works for me

Finish

Sweet and creamy, orange peel and fruit juice
