Highland Park / Highland Park

Highland Park Thorfinn Review

Highland park Thorfinn I previously reviewed the first three Highland Park Warriors (Travel Retail Only) Series this is the Highland Park Thorfinn, the highest priced and final dram of the range..

I'd been waiting on the right time to have these drams after gratefully receiving official samples from Highland Park (thanks guys) and so when I seen that Steve Rush @thewhiskywire from The Whisky Wire was having a Tweet Tasting i had to gatecrash and join in with the second half.

The first thing that hits you here is a real orange peel sweetness and it's there in every part of this dram, this is a damn nice dram but at approx £850 very much out of most peoples price range..

Thanks again to Highland Park for the samples and to Steve Rush @thewhiskywire for letting me gatecrash the Tweet Tasting.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Orange peel really comes in strongly here along with light watery fruits (honeydew melon and kiwi) with morello cherry sneaking in behind, hints of polished mahogany give away the age on this one

Palate

sweetness first with tingling christmas spices with nutmeg to the fore, orange peel and rind and crushed dark cherry and a touch of menthol.

Finish

sweet, spicy and full of orangey goodness
