Highland Park Thor Review

Highland Park Thor We recently had the pleasure of Daryl Haldane (@darylhaldane) from Highland Park coming out to visit us at Livingston Whisky Club for a tasting and talk through some of the expressions that Highland Park have on the market at the moment.

I had a wee half dram of this previously so was really looking forward to giving it a lot more of the time and respect that it deserved. Thor is a real butch man of a dram with powerful smoke and a very sweet notes with a big kick of spice. Sold out at most of the specialists Thor is still available from the Highland Park web shop.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Thor begins with touches of smoke like passing a ham thats been going for a while, the smoke and meaty notes are tamed with sweetness, manuka honey, heather honey, dried fruits and mixed nuts and crushed ginger

Palate

The palate is a real mix of sweet and spicy as it combines the sweetness of manuka honey with grated fresh ginger and a sprinkling of smoke

Finish

sweet and spicy, with a gentle hammer thud of smoke.
