Highland Park 21 Year Old Review

Highland Park 21 We recently had the pleasure of Daryl Haldane (@darylhaldane) from Highland Park coming out to visit us at Livingston Whisky Club for a tasting and talk through some of the expressions that Highland Park have on the market at the moment.

This was my first time trying the Highland Park 21 Year Old and i was really very impressed with this, the big brother to the 12 and 18, there's some really lovely orange fruit notes and spice and it really is a cracker of a dram. It's priced at the more premium end for a 21 Year Old but it's so worth it, easily picked up direct from the Web Shop or from Specialists like Master of Malt etc

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

My first impression of the 21 Year old was "oranges" as that was the first initial hit of flavour, it's not just oragnes though it's satsumas and clementines, it's Christmas Stocking fruit, vanilla and creme brule with grated ginger spice, touches of smoke from a small beach bonfire and sea spray

Palate

The palate is sweet and nutty, heather honey covered mixed crushed nuts, with satsumas and clementines touches of bonfire smoke

Finish

sweet and touch of smoke with still oranges
