Jura The Delme Evans SE Review

Jura The Delme Evans SE One of a few Jura whiskies that i received a sample from a friend, and really happy to have tried.

This sample was sent to me by Adrian (@mynameisgone) who took part in the The Whisky Wire's (@thewhiskywire & www.thewhiskywire.com) Jura tweet tasting for the 50th anniversary of the re-opening of the distillery. Unfortuanately I was not selected for this tweet tasting, and Adrian was kind enough to share with me a little of his samples of the two whiskies on this tasting that i had not previously had, and for that i will be eternally grateful.

This first one is the Jura The Delme Evans SE which were drawn from the cask exclusively for this tweet tasting.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

initially there's a spike of acetone/alcohol which then moves to initially vanilla pods and creme brule, demerera sugar and dried fruits, peach and apricot compote, touches of pine needles and oak leafs.

Palate

an edge of spice adds to peach and apricot yoghurt, vanilla and demerera sugar and more oak leaf.

Finish

nice length with a kick of spice
