Glenlivet Alpha Review

Glenlivet AlphaTasted as part of the Glenlivet Alpha Tweet tasting with The Whisky Wire (@thewhiskywire)

An interesting bottle from The Glenlivet released with only the minimum of information, that it is Scotch Single Malt Whisky distilled at The Glenlivet distillery and that it is free from artificial colouring and is Non-chill filtered and bottled at 50%. I'm still not sure exactly what this is but it certainly comes across as being ex bourbon and with the smoothness of it i would suggest it has been well aged and wouldn't be surprised if it were around 18-20 years old or even more.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

gentle bourbon influence with freshly scraped vanilla pod mixing with red crunchy apple and fresh pineapple chunks and a touch of caramel

Palate

super smooth totally does not taste like 50% it's vanilla and butterscotch angel delight topped tinned fruit salad with syrup

Finish

easy drinking, no long finish sweet fruits and creamy angel delight.
