a really unusual nose, quite subtle with edges of acetone mixed in with a touch of chinese all spice, there's a touch of smoke, but not huge, just a smidge not as much as i was expecting.
Many thanks to my good friend Steve Prentice (@steveprentice) of Somerset Whisky Blog for sending me the sample of this new Talisker which was supposed to be a stronger, peatier version, but that i found a bit tame and not as powerful as the name would suggest.

spicy and peppery with a hit of heat, there's a smidge of smoke but again i was expecting more from it, a touch of sweetness in there too.
quite a winey note, medium length.
