Talisker / Talisker

Talisker 18 Year Old Review

taisker 18 Thanks to Andrew Purslow (@ardbaggie) for the sample of this cracker of a dram.

I was totally expecting just a more refined version of the Talisker 10 but what i got was a fruitiness and sweetness similar to the Distillers Edition but with a lot more refined in the seaspray and finish, this is a cracker of a dram and i need to grab a bottle soon.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

There's a real sweetness and fruitiness on the nose here that i wasn't expecting, it reminds me a bit of the Distillers Edition as there's an edge of fruit that hits before the trademark Seaspray you get from Talisker. with plum jam, almost port line, then atouch of greengages and nectarines before seaspray and salty chips and a touch of open fire wood burning smoke.

Palate

plums and greengages with seaspray and a touch of pepper, there's an edge of smoke but nothing more than the smell on your clothes after sitting by an open fire the night before.

Finish

has a nice long finish that grows and grows with the usual talisker pepper and spice
