The Macallan / The Macallan

The Macallan Sienna (1824 Series) Review

The Macallan Sienna Tasted at the unveiling of the 1824 series and again after with samples from The Macallan.

Probably my favourite of the range, the nose isn't quite as good as the Amber and the palate isn't quite as good as the Ruby but they work so well together and there's such a level of balance that it makes it such a fantastic dram, one i will be adding to my whisky shelf sooner rather than later.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Orange peel, fresh vanilla pods and yoghurt coated raisins and sultanas, there;s something a bit spicy here too a touch of cinnamon stick and sweet ripe plums.

Palate

rich dark fruits and yoghurt coated raisins, with orange peel and cinnamon sticks.

Finish

seville oranges and a little cinnamon spice
