Glen Garioch 1995 Batch 10 Review

Glen Garioch 1995 Batch 10 Tasted as part of the Lovefirstfill twitter tasting this is the Glen Garioch 1995.

One of the last drams produced using Glen Garioch's own floor maltings. I know that the locals will be happy as per Rachel Barrie (@TheLadyBlender) "A highlander likes 2 things to be naked, one of them is their whisky" and with this dram at 55.3% it certainly hasn't been clothed with any additional water.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

really quite summery in nature grass/dried hay and some wafer (ice cream cone without the ice cream),. really a quite delicious nose that makes you want to dive right in. when you really breath it in there's a lovely citrus cheesecake note too.

Palate

Takes a bit to get used to the high ABV but when that subsides it comes along with sweet fleshy fruits with vanilla custard, creamy and buttery with edges of toast.

Finish

Creamy and spicy with some toast and wafer.
