Tormore Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Review

Tormore - Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Another cracker of a single cask dram from That Boutique-y Whisky Company this time its Tormore Batch 1.

I've only had a couple from this Speyside distillery but i've been very impressed with any that i've had.

It comes with a wonderful comic book-style label with a reference to the fact that Tormore is used in the Long John blend, and of course there is also a rather famous – though fictitious – pirate by the name of Long John! Accordingly, the label sees the distillery converted into a pirate ship, sailing the seven seas!

This is a release of 226 numbered bottles.

not much of this still left so pop along to Master of Malt and get it as soon as possible.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

I really like the nose on this theres a touch of greene and blacks white chocolate with vanilla with a creamy malty note underlying it, once passed that it goes quite sweet and tropical with pineapple and mango.

Palate

more white chocolate with tropical fruits, theres a spicy tanginess that reminds me of blood oranges and vanilla.

Finish

tanginess and vanilla, with white chocolate.
