SMWS 10.71 - Onions Spring Eternal Review

SMWS I was lucky enough to meet up recently with John McCheyne (@SMWSAmbassador) at the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in Edinburgh for a chat and a few drams.

John has a wealth of experience in the Whisky Industry and is a pleasure to be in the company of.

We had a number of drams, with my first one of the afternoon being this 10.71 Onions Spring Eternal and 11 year old Islay and yet another cracker from the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Lovely nose on this, very sweet to begin with, with a lot of treacle and hugely caramelnotes. then comes a packet of pickled onion monster munch and an array of summer fruits and berries.

Palate

Tangy and quite briny with a definite seaside influence along with more summer fruit and berries wrapped in dark chocolate.

Finish

lovely tingle on the tongue and quite drying.
