Glengoyne 17 The sample of this lovely Highland dram came courtesy of Danny Williamson (@dramstats) of the Dramstats Whisky Blog.

Now discontinued and replaced by the Glengoyne 18 Year Old this is a lovely dram and one i would highly recommend you try if you can find one kicking about.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

the nose on this is instantly a really interesting mix of sweet fruits and gentle oak, the fruits are more of the fleshy type like plum, nectarine, peach but with a sherried dried fruit depth to them, the oak is there but not overpowering and works well with the fruit.

Palate

not as much oak on the palate but lots of fruit, the fleshy fruits coming to the fore again, more of the sherry dried fruit as well, a touch of honey binds it all together.

Finish

A fruity afterglow especially plum like
