Kilchoman Sherry Cask Review

Kilchoman Sherry Cask I really can't believe this is my first review of a Kilchoman whisky i was sure i'd reviewed at least a few others prior to this review so i'll need to hunt back through my reviews book.

I got some really weird notes on the nose on this when i first poured the sample which died off quickly soon after and became more mellowed.

Once the lactic notes had died down this became a really lovely dram that i would happily sit and sip all night long.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

intially i got a really cheesy lactic note when i smelled this straight out the sample bottle, after settling in the glass the nose calmed to a sweet sherried dried fruit note with an underlying whiff of smoke and some lighter grassy notes also.

Palate

oh lots of smoke there on the mouth, much more than on the nose, lovely fruityness with fruit cake and floral/grassy yumminess.

Finish

more i have of this the more i like it, smokey on the finish but lush also.
