A Fine Christmas Malt 2020 Review

A Fine Christmas Malt 2020the third Fine Christmas Malt i have had the pleasure of trying, this year a 19 year old blended malt.

I can&apos:t say that I'm not a little disappointed that this is not a single malt but we will give it a go based on the flavours anyway.

If you like your drams sharried, big bold and christmasy then this does the trick, it's a really good dram with lots of complex flavours and it is very well balanced, all to do with it being a blended malt.

My only criticism is that it*apos;s a little flat and too easy drinking that it doesn't quite make it exceptional for me, i want a little intrigue and mystery and it is definitely missing that, although a very good winter drinking dram it is.

Tasting Notes & Details

Rich powerful sherry influence straight off the bat, big notes of furniture polish, prunes and dried apricots, prickly christmas cake spices and as it settles, apple crumble comes in also, then a touch of mixed fruit peels and christmas mince pie filling soaked in rum

The abv betrays this making you think it will be tamer than it is, it has a bit full fruity spicy christmas cake note, apple crumble again, loads of juicy dried apricots and a some proper vanilla custard over the top, fresh apple slices and mixed fruit peel together add a real fruitiness to this.

Long lingering sweet, fruit, spicy yumm
