Speyside #3 8 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Batch 1 Review

Speyside #3 8 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Batch 1 This was sampled as the second dram in the #TastesBoutiquey Twitter Tasting sampling some of the whiskies in the That Boutique-y Whisky Company Advent Calendar and 12 Days of Christmas Advert Calendar.

This undisclosed distillery caused a lot of debate, with a number of people trying to guess different distilleries, Glenrothes seemingly being the favourite, but whichever it is one worth trying.

Sweet toffeed, floral and honeyed with a definite apples note and lots of picnic chutney, this was an interesting dram, maybe not my favourite of the night but one i really enjoyed.

This dram is not yet available as a full bottle, but once it is it will be available from specialists like Master of Malt here.

This was part of this 12 Days of Christmas Pack.

Thanks to Drinks By The Dram for the sample pack.

Tasting Notes & Details

Cinnamon spiced gingerbread person, clotted cream fudge (the creaminess is really coming through), riverbank grass, with picnic chutney, farmyard apple cider like notes of hay and apple coming too

Floral (Lavender) honey coated spiced biscuits, with a touch of treacle toffee on the side, more appley notes and that picnic chutney (kinda bittersweet id say) with spiced summer fruit crumble

summer fruit crumble with bitterweet chutney, quite long finish.
