Auchroisk / That Boutique-y Whisky Company

Auchroisk 12 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Batch 7 Review

Auchroisk 12 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Batch 7 This was sampled as the third dram in the #TastesBoutiquey Twitter Tasting sampling some of the whiskies in the That Boutique-y Whisky Company Advent Calendar and 12 Days of Christmas Advert Calendar.

Auchroisk (pronounced Auth-Rusk by the people in the village) is another of those distilleries very infrequently seen as an official bottling, it used to be the singleton, but those are now either Glen Ord, Glendullan or Dufftown and Auchroisk doesn't really get a look in anymore.

I tend to find Auchroisk quite a full bodied dram so was surprised at how light it was initially on the palate here but there are just so many tasty flavours that i really enjoyed, this is definitely one on my christmas list.

This bottle seems to only be available as part of the advent calendars but there is a 19 year old available from Master of Malt here.

This was part of this 12 Days of Christmas Pack.

Thanks to Drinks By The Dram for the sample pack.

Tasting Notes & Details

Treacle scones, doughy and floury, served with a slice of some game bird meat (pheasant, partridge, maybe even duck) in a juicy fig and raspberry compote

really light on the palate, but juicy and fruity, that fig and raspberry compote is back, along with the duck, this time in a gentle blackberry jam,

fairly lengthy, figgy and sweet
