Tullibardine Marquess Collection The Murray (2007) Review

Tullibardine Marquess Collection The Murray (2007) Despite being a distillery that I have partaken of a fair amount i haven't written too many reviews for the whisky, so i will try to fix that in the future.

This 2007 version of The Murray is matured in ex bourbon barrels and bottled at cask strength both things i tend to like to see in a whisky, so this is something i am already pretty excited to stick my nose into.

This has all of the flavours i like in ex bourbon casks, fruit, vanilla, honey, citrusy, juicy and the ABV just feels like it isn't there at all it is so drinkable.

An exciting dram that really works for my palate, i would happily drink plenty of this.

Keep an eye out at your local whisky specialist for this arriving soon.

Thanks to Tullibardine for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

There are definitely some notes in here i was not expecting, initally there's a citrusy note, lemon curd, maybe something lighters in lemon flavour but still as sticky and sweet, a hint of manuka honey (that sweetness mixing with a hint of cask char), something chewy, a mix of marshmallows and blow torched italian meringues,

Palate

Tropical fruit salad (mango, papaya) sweetness with some balsa wood/ cedarwood straight up, then honey and light floral gums, vanilla ice cream on custard tart, those italian meringues are back too, light lemon curd hanging around also.

Finish

Italian merignues and custard tart with a hint of lemon curd
