Aberfeldy 20 Year Old Exceptional Cask #119 Review

Aberfeldy 20 Year Old Exceptional Cask #119 I've had a few single cask Aberfeldy drams in the past and this, as part of an Aberfeldy tweet tasting, was one i was really looking forward to trying.

Finished in an ex sherry cask i was initially concerned that i would fall victim to my dislike of sherry casks but this was hugely tasty and one i really liked.

This does not taste like the ABV says it's easy drinking, juicy, fruity, deliciousness, if you can push to this then get it, you will not be disappointed.

Available to buy from the distillery or order online from the Aberfeldy Online Store

Thanks to Aberfeldy and Great Drams for inclusion on this Twitter Tasting.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

There's a real milky sweet coffee note, more cappuccino than americano, milky though and with a lot of brown sugar, orange peel and pith, lemon sherbet, cask char and floral honey notes

Palate

Tangy fizzy orange sherbet, white pepper covered dark chocolate and orange liqueur sweets, gentle floral honey lozenges, those coffee notes are hiding in the background again as is a little redcurrant jam

Finish

Redcurrant jam and cappuccino with a hint of orange peel
