Glen Moray Bourbon Cask 2008 Fill Your Own Review

Glen Moray Bourbon Cask 2008 Fill Your Own Like many distillery visitors centres the friendly and knowledgeable folks at Glen Moray have some Fill Your Own (or Bottle Your Own, or Hand Fill or whatever you want to call them) single casks at the distillery which for a reasonable fee they will let you fill straight from the cask into a bottle.

They tend to change fairly regularly and allows the Master Distiller, Graham Coull, to play about with cask finishes as some of the ones in the past have included Cider Cask Finished, Burgundy Wine Finished and other interesting options.

This particular dram is a 2008 vintage matured in an ex bourbon cask, so this is right up my street, Glen Moray is a definite favourite distillery and ex bourbon is where my heart (and palate) lies.

This has everything i want from an ex bourbon dram, walnut whips (especially the creamy innards, milk chocolate, a hint of nuts, vanilla custard, toffee, caramel. If i was given a bottle of this and told it would be the only dram i could drink for the rest of my life, I'd still be a very happy man.

Only available to buy at the distillery, whilst stocks last.
