Glen Moray Fired Oak 10 Year Old Review

Glen Moray Fired Oak 10 Year Old Ex-bourbon American oak casks are always my preferred go to with whiskies, whether it's first fill or refill i always think it brings out the best in the spirit and i love those flavours.

This Glen Moray has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in heavily charred virgin oak casks to add an extra layer of flavour.

Theres a definite "toasted" note in here it's toasted white bread and actually toasted lemongrass also (yes i make use of a lot of Asian flavours in my cooking too) and preserved lemons, really really interesting on the nose and almost un Glen Moray like, the palate brings it back and slaps you with distillery character, sweetness and american cream soda, a hint of caramel in there as well.

This is really interesting and the virgin oak hasn't ruined this dram, as it has to many other distilleries use of it, and i really like this.
