Jura The Loch Single Malt Scotch Whisky Review

Jura The Loch Single Malt Scotch Whisky Another from the Jura Travel retail range, they all appear to be a combination of ex bourbon american oak and ex pedro Ximinez sherry casks, with varying amounts of peated and unpeated whisky in them.

Theres a lot more balance in this dram, which is to be expected as you move up the cost and likely age, treacle tarts and blackcurrant cremola foam are the ones that make it stand out, theres still a dirty vegetal note in this dram but it doesn't overpower like some of the others.

The palate isnt as interesting as i would have liked, it maybe needs a bit more oomph abv wise to shine as at the moment it's nice but a little flat.

If you're interested in one you can preorder before you travel at World Duty Free

Thanks to The Whisky Wire for including me on the tweet tasting

Tasting Notes & Details

Much more balanced, there's tasty treacle tart notes and a hint of treacle scones, raisin ice cream, waxy freshly scraped vanilla pods, apple and blackcurrant cremola foam, again that dirty vegetal note is here

Initially this feels a little bland, theres not much going on, quite straight forward, like a smoked vegetal puree from a posh restaurant, with a hint of fruit foam

Soft, vegetal, creamy
