Glengoyne Cuartillo Review

Glengoyne Cuartillo From the new Glengoyne range of whiskies, this Glengoyne Cuartillo is at the cheaper end of the scale, and I'm really excited to give this one a try.

I'm pretty excited by this one as although it's matured in first fill ex-sherry, but they are all American Oak barrels which is much more to my preferred flavour profile.

Oh my goodness this is a bit good! It really fits with my palate, soft creamy cashew nuts all through it, vanilla cream also, toffee and fruit, mostly banana (with a caramel sauce), I really like this, a lot. Next time I'm in an airport i'm definitely picking one of these up, and i don't think it will last long unopened.

Pick one up next time you're passing through a World Duty Free

Thanks to Glengoyne for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

The nose starts with creamy nutty notes, crushed cashew notes, gentle mixed nuts and creamed corn, there's a hint of bread, quite yeasty, touches of fruit skins, banana, mango, papaya, and soft toffee.

Toffee first, soft sticky running toffee, almost pouring caramel, banana fritters without the batter, more of those cashews, really creamy, hints of vanilla.

Sweet toffee, creamy cashew nuts
