The Lost Distilleries Blend Batch 11 Review

The Lost Distilleries Blend Batch 11 I've had the Lost Distilleries Blend Batch 6 before which I really enjoyed so I was really looking forward to this one as the First dram from my 2018 Whisky Advent Calendar.

Featuring drams from many closed distilleries such as Rosebank, Caperdonich, Imperial, Mosstowie etc this is a lookinto the past and an example of some of the great whiskies that would have been available in the 60s and 70s.

This is tasty stuff, although I think Batch 6 was sweeter and more to my personal liking, there's lots of alsmost Edinburgh Rock fruity chalky notes in here and hints of smoke on the palate, a definite drinker but if you can find batch 6 I'd be going for that, if not this is a definite adequate replacement.

Grab this, and other batches, at Master of Malt.

Thanks to Drinks By The Dram for the 2018 Scotch Whisky Advent Calendar that this was part of.

Tasting Notes & Details

There's a hint initially of puff candy and some chalky fruity notes that are heading towards Edinburgh Rock but maybe not as sweet, theres a citrussy note of lemon and orange zest and pith mixing with the powder from a tin of travel sweets.

Definite tang initially! theres some citrus pith again, then theres that chalky sweet fruity note, not too sweet, maybe like a mix of tangtastics and edinburgh rock, sweet, chalky, tangy all in one go, either some char or smoke in here, its very light though so difficult to pin down.

Sweet and powdery
