Dailuaine / Dailuaine

Dailuaine 16 Year Old Flora and Fauna Review

Dailuaine 16 Year Old Flora and Fauna Dailuaine, one of Diageos core drams, is one that i tend to find myself going to fairly regularly when i see it by independant bottlers but i kept missing the 16 year old flora and fauna bottlings for some reason.

My son decided, after trying an indie Dailuaine, that it was a dram he liked so he picked up a bottle of this and we shared a few big drams of it when away last weekend and this really is a tasty dram.

Floral honey, toffee, caramel and touches of spice, this light, easy drinker has it all, with a dose of complexity, hunt it out and grab one yourself now!

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

First impressions were a bucket load of homemade butterscotch caramel and toffee but it settles to more a heather honey floral intricate sweetness, I get a bit of vanilla sugar and a touch of breakfast prunes.

Palate

Oh my this is a little too easy to drink, there’s a gentle sweet vanilla sugary note then that heather honey is back but there’s also a smattering of ground white pepper that’s adds spice and intrigue to this dram.

Finish

That ground white pepper spice is still there but the sweetness grows and coated the mouth.
