Old Pulteney / AD Rattray

Pulteney 10 Year Old Octave Project Rum Octave Finish (AD Rattray) Review

Pulteney 10 Year Old Octave Project Rum Octave Finish (AD Rattray) The last of four of the octave finishes in this series of Pulteney drams from AD Rattray is this Rum Octave Finish. The awesome whisky magicians at AD Rattray have been doing some experimentation with some casks of Arran, Pulteney and Bunnahabhain, keeping some it as is, and then splitting the rest over four 50 litre octaves made especially for AD Rattray from casks that previously held PX Sherry, Oloroso Sherry, Rioja Wine and Rum for an additional 5 months.

This is interesting, yet again the cask has run roughshod over the flavours I liked from the bourbon cask but it’s very interesting and very drinkable.

Keep an eye out over the rest of the week for the others in this series

Thanks to AD Rattray for the official sample.
