Aberfeldy 2001 single cask #21444 Review

Aberfeldy 2001 single cask #21444 My good friend Barry from The Whisky Philes recently took part in a tweet tasting of this Aberfeldy dram with The Whisky Wire and shared some of the generous samples from these single cask expressions with me.

This dram comes from cask number 21444 from 2001 and has been matured in a refill white american oak ex bourdon barrel for its entire life.

Even before i tasted this i knew it would be my style of dram, Aberfeldy has this honey sweetness and i absolutely love ex-bourbon drams so i was excited about it and was right to have been. lots of floral heather honey and sweetness, hints of cinnamon spice and a touch of white pepper, this is a seriously interesting dram.

This was a single cask, distillery exclusive, from Aberfeldy Distillery.

Thanks to Barry at The Whisky Philes for sharing his samples.
