Johnnie Walker Explorers Club Collection The Spice Road Review

Johnnie Walker Explorers Club Collection The Spice Road When this dram was first released it was only available in Global Travel Retail, but has since been released onto the general market also.

Celebrating the old trade routes, the official notes talk about tropical fruits and spice.

For me this is uite forgettable, it gets better as it sits in the glass but it’s not exactly complex or hugely flavourful. Its definitely "smooth" but not hugely great and for me it doesnt justify it's £50 or so price tag.

Pick one up from your local whisky specialist such as The Whisky Exchange.

Thanks to Jason from Malt for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Really light on the nose, quite closed I would say, some light wood spice and rich tea biscuits, soreen malty fruit loaf, light burnt toast, cinnamon dust and a little hint of rum baba in the background along with a dull glacé cherry.

Touch of smoke, burnt toast, light cinnamon, spiced rich tea biscuits dunked in tea, Cremola foam fizzy notes

Light touch of smoke/ carbon and spice but very short
