Hammerhead 1989 Vintage Review

Hammer Head 1989 Blind review of the Hammerhead 1989 Vintage

I recently took part in the Dramming.com Freestyle Blind Tasting contest which entailed being sent 5 blind samples, identified only by colour which i then had to nose and taste and send back my best guesses at. To be honest i was utterly rubbish at this but i will show below what my guess was for each whisky.

I had guessed that this was - Bains Cape Mountain Whisky – Grain Whisky from South Africa at 43%

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Huge Grain whisky/ Bourbon nose, dewy grass, and sweet meadows, instantly considering Bains Cape Mountain Whisky for this one, stunning nose

Palate

Sweet and grassy, lots of floral notes in there too.

Finish

Has a bit of a kick to it, nothing major though just nice to sit and sip
