Mezan Panama 2004 Rum Review

Mezan Panama 2004 RumOne or two of my Day Job colleagues were talking about Mezan rum and utterly raving about the Panamanian rum they had from Mezan, which although not this one, had me really excited.

Distilled in Panama in 2004 and bottled in 2017 this rum from an undisclosed distillery really has got my mouth watering before i've even cracked open the sample.

I thought this rum might have just about pipped the Jamaican 2005 rum to the best of the bunch, but it's just edged out by ABV making it not as thick and viscous on the palate. Lots of complexity in this rum with sweet fruits and bitter coca mixing with oakiness and spices, this is a sipping rum, and a damn good one at that.

Available to purchase from Master of Malt.

Thanks to The Whisky Wire and Mezan Rum for including me on this Tweet Tasting.
