Hazelburn 13 Oloroso Cask Review

Hazelburn 13 Oloroso Cask Hazelburn is unpeated and triple distilled Springbank and i generally love it to bits, it's got a hint of that oily dirty and maltiness that typifies Campbeltown but without the peat.

I really really like this, theres sweet and fruity elements that remind me of elderflower cordial and noble rot grapes, it's seriously tasty.

I'm really happy i didn't get too much of a sherry element with this dram which i'm grateful of.

Sold out at Master of Malt and other specialists, keep an eye out for more like this in the future.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Pencil shavings and st germaine elderflower cordial, Hubba bubba sour chewing gum, chewits, vanilla cream, gets lighter and fresher as it sits in the glass, then a gentle puff of smoke arrives with gooseberry or greengages

Palate

Slightly soured fruits again then burnt oily creaminess, again a hint of cinder toffee and what i’d best describe as noble rot.

Finish

Sweet juicy, oily, fresh wow
