SMWS 53.218 Philadelphia Cigar Perfection Review

smws Tom has had this dram for a while now, as a share with a group of friends, but everytime he went to write notes, he instead just sipped the dram and enjoyed it, so asked me, Ben K, to jump in with another set of notes.

This 53.218 Philadelphia Cigar Perfection, rumour has it was originally called "Phillies Blunt Perfecto" was released a good while back but it's a damn delicious dram.

Interestingly not as much smoke as usual for this distillery, and lots of sweet fruity notes in here, I actually dont get much of a cigar element, but i do this its a dram worthy of trying, again and again.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

I’m not picking up huge amounts of smoke here, there’s the pickle juice poured our a jar of picililly then hints of coal dust, barley sugars, whipped cream, toffee caramel and soft plums.

Palate

Nippy. Juicy, salty, saline, peppered king rib. Burnt ends? Slighly burnt notes-- like tucking into a well fired buttery cheese roll.

Finish

Ashy, juicy mandarin in amongst malt flavours.
