Auchentoshan 10 Year Old (1990s) Review

Auchentoshan 10 Year Old (1990s) When i was hunting the Whisky Auctions for something interesting and found this set of four miniatures, with this Auchentoshan 10 Year Old likely from the 1990s or early 2000s a part of it.

I've got a soft spot for Auchentoshan and do really enjoy drinking it, so an example of an old bottling was something i was really interested in.

Tastes quite modern in comparison to the other drams in this set, very familiar flavour profile would lead me to say Auchentoshan hasn't changed too much over the years. This was ranked 4th in my list of these 4 drams, but not as it isn't any good but because it was the least different, unusual, and "old" this really didn't come across as something from years ago, but more of something that could have been produced today.

To find drams like this you will want to look at Auction houses like Whisky Auctioneer or specialist retailers like Hard To Find Whisky where you might be able to find some old and rare minis.

Tasting Notes & Details

A cursory sniff gives huge baked goods notes first, Belgian Buns especially, then as you dive deeper there's a dried fruit note with dried apricot and Demerara heavy fruit cake, a hint of nuttiness and spice

Very familiar and comforting sweet fresh fruits and fruit salad, a touch of honey and nutmeg wood and spice,

Fruit salad honey and nutmeg
