Glendronach 1993 Oloroso Sherry Butt Cask 42 Review

Glendronach 1993 Oloroso Sherry Butt Cask 42 It's Ben K here again helping Tom out once again with the Heavily sherried drams that he doesn't get on so well with.

Another big dram, although not as HUGE as the 1992 was, this is still filled with large BBQ ribs and treacle notes, these single cask releases from Glendronach are just huge hitters, that bring masses of big sherry flavours and are uncompromising on the palate, if you like that kind of dram, you will love these.

Thanks to Glendronach for the Official Sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Not as Ooft! As the 1992, treacle toffees, black jack chewy sweets, rum baba and pencil shavings, double cream, maple syrup and play-doh, strawberry chews and a hint of pine needles

Palate

huge woody oak notes, leathery (new leather), old navy rum, a freshly poured espresso coffee, the dark caramelised parts of bbq ribs and a hint ashy.

Finish

long, meaty, coffee
