Port Dundas / Douglas Laing

Port Dundas 11yr Old Particular (Douglas Laing) Review

Port Dundas 11yr Old Particular (Douglas Laing) I've been through a couple of this bottles, and a sample, before getting round to finally writing my notes on this, its just so damn drinkable.

spicy, smoky, almost like tequila or mezcal this is a dram that looks tame but has bite, hints of mocha and a lot of sweetness, a dram i love and hope you do too.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

instantly not as light as the colour would have you believe, sugar coated wasabi peanuts, tequila like smoky cask char and vegetation, hints of those coffee sweets from a box of lily o'briens chocolates

Palate

light and creamt, sugary chantilly cream, quite fresh, touches of leafy herbacious notes, milk chocolat and gently smokes meats but without the meatiness, barley sugars and spiced mixed nuts

Finish

quite long lasting, fresh sugary cream and leafiness
