Port Askaig 15 Year Old Review

Port Askaig 15 year old Tasted as part of a Tweet Tasting organised by Steve Rush of The Whisky Wire in conjunction with Speciality Spirits this Port Askaig 15 year old was the second dram of the night.

More of the soft creamy smoke, like the Port Askaig 8, and a lot of sweet fruits this sweet, fruity, creamy dram with a backbone of peat smoke is a cracking winter warmer, seriously lovely stuff.

Available to buy from The Whisky Exchange

Thanks again to The Whisky Wire and Speciality Drinks for the inclusion on the Tweet Tasting.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

soft and full of light vanilla, light smoke, smoked tinned pears & hints of burnt treacle, some morello cherry yoghurt, overly salty butter & cream filled buns

Palate

Again this is quite soft & creamy lots of wood spice, light smoke for me, salty cherry infused butter and a splash of grated dark chocolate

Finish

Spiced smoking wood chips
