Glenrothes / Wemyss Malts

Wemyss Malts Lime Tea Infusion Review

Wemyss Lime Tea Infusion The first of two Wemyss Malts drams available exclusively at the distillery is this Lime Tea Infusion, a 1997 vintage from Glenrothes distillery.

Wemyss Malts single cask range are always cracking drams, bottled at drinking strength of 46%, and although there are times i wish they had a little more punch, they are always full of flavour.

This 1997 Glenrothes is no different, it's a cracking dram with key lime pie and earl grey tea notes, fruity and tannic and very drinkable.

Many thanks to Wemyss Malts for the official Sample, ensure you get a bottle at Kingsbarns Distillery

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

light and quite gentle, key lime pie topping, creamy and sugary without the pastry bottom, hints of wood spices creep in fruit teas from twinnings and gentle tannic notes

Palate

much richer and more full on that i expected from the nose, spices and rich tannic notes, sweet chocolate limes with that slightly sour kick, creamy fluffy soft meringues

Finish

soft creamy, slightly sour, long lasting tingle/fizz
