Springbank 12 Year Old (2012 Festival Bottling) Review

Springbank 12 yr 2012 Festival Bottling Many thanks to David (@TIA568B) from Glenuntitled.com for this sample of Springbank 12 Year Old 2012 Festival Bottling which was bottled on my 37th Birthday.

This single cask, cask strength, beauty was distilled in March 2000 and bottled on May 24th 2012 (my 37th Birthday) so it does make it a little special to me.

After the Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn i've had as samples from David it's shown me i really need to go down and visit Springbank, and soon.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Quite light on the nose, definite apples, not the xmas cake type sherry i was expecting, a little sour lemon and some airfix glue in there too.

Palate

stewed apples with brown demerera sugar some undercooked pastry influence too almost like a big apple pie, some pencil eraser in there like when you accidentaly chew a pencil which has an eraser on the end

Finish

light and warming, more fruity than expected from the nose
