Highland Park / Douglas Laing

Highland Park 21yr XOP (Douglas Laing) Review

Highland Park 21yr XOP (Douglas Laing) Another single cask Highland Park this is from the Douglas Laing XOP range, a 21 year old from what looks again to be ex-bourbon which really works for me.

I'm loving all the ex bourbon cask highland park and wish the distillery themselves would put out more ex bourbon rather than the ex sherry that is traditionally served up.

The nose on this dram is outstanding, I could easily spend every night of my life from now smelling this, it's amazing. A seriously tasty dram and for the price it's great value also.

Available to buy from specialists like Master of Malt or directly from Douglas Laing online.

Thanks to Douglas Laing for the official sample as part of my fellows pack.

Tasting Notes & Details

Oh wow, there's a really interesting sweet waxy note in here, then some saltwater taffies, salty seaside shells, toffee pennies and sweet heather honey, a hint of gentle cottage fire smoke in the background, a hint of furniture polish and beeswax in the there too.

Tangy, sweet, juicy, barley sugars and some sweet light oak, floral and heather honey, real organic stuff, fresh ozone and crushed seashell notes, more saltwater taffies again.

Sweet, juicy, floral and a hint of smoke.
