Invergordon 42yr Batch 6 (That Boutiquey Whisky Co) Review

Invergordon 42yr Batch 6 (That Boutiquey Whisky Co) So the That Boutiquey Whisky Company drams now all have age statements so let's start by giving this Invergordon 42 year a whirl.

I really do enjoy grain whisky and Invergordon is one I've had a few times and really enjoyed, this has dropped to 47.7% ABV high is interesting as many of the invergordons I've had in the past have retained a much higher ABV even at this age.

I wasn't sure from the nose, it felt quick fizzy and almost bitter with spices, the palate after the first sip goes softer and sweeter every time and is seriously juicy and wonderful a really tasty dram.

You can pick up a bottle from Master of Malt.

Thanks to Maverick Drinks for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

An initial gluey note mixes with baked bramley apples and toffees then a dewy grass note comes in along with some spiced sponge cakes, and some dark fruit skins covered in a spiced rub.

There's a definite spicy gluey note like air fix glue and cinnamon, then there's a soft candy floss sweetness and juicy fresh fruit salad, Galia melon and soft juicy pears, sweeter and sweeter in the mouth.

Sweeter, softer, yummier
