Tormore / Gordon & MacPhail

Tormore 1997 Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) Review

Tormore 1997 Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) Yet another from the Gordon and MacPhail Wood Makes the Whisky campaign is this 1997 Tormore, a distillery I've not spent a huge amount of time with in the past.

I'm looking forward to trying this as I've heard good things about Tormore and the couple of expressions I've tried in past were tasty whisky.

Tasty stuff this dram, lots of fruits which work really well for me, tasty fruity notes with vanilla Angel delight, hints of oak and spices in there too, this shows me yet again that I need to find more Tormore to try.

Available to buy from specialists like Master of Malt

Thanks to Gordon and MacPhail for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Light creamy fruit salad covered in light vanilla angels delight, this is creamy and sweet and fruity, tinned fruit salad rather than fresh, with that slight metallic hint and lots of lovely light syrup, oaky notes grow as it sits in glass and hint of pine air freshener creeps in too.

Palate

Sweet and fruity, slightly sugared tinned fruit salad in light syrup, then a hint of cinnamon and creamy vanilla angel delight, there's a touch of spice growing in here, cinnamon dusted melon

Finish

Oaky, hints of spiced light fruits
