The Macallan / That Boutique-y Whisky Company

Macallan 25yr Batch 5 (That Boutiquey Whisky Co) Review

Macallan 25yr Batch 5 (That Boutiquey Whisky Co) So the That Boutiquey Whisky Company drams now all have age statements and this, now sold out, Macallan 25 year old is one of the first to feature the age statement.

With a price tag of a whopping £497 for a 50cl bottle this MacAllan is most definitely a rear treat and with the dark colour I am a little dubious, any regular readers will know I'm not huge on sherries drams, so we'll see how this goes.

Wow this is a proper sherry monster, it's sweet on the nose and the spices kick in on the palate and keep on going, a huge fruity, spicy, tangy, leathery, polish like dram, a real monster and hugely indulgent.

Thanks to Maverick Drinks for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Well this is definitely for a sherry cask, those hugely chocolates dark fruity notes are there in abundance, it's bitter (but sweet) high cocoa % chocolate with figs and prunes, sweet furniture polish and crushed cashew nuts and Brazil nuts, some new leather in here too

Wow hugely punchy with massive dried fruits and dark fruits notes, spices come in strong too but they're sweet spices rather than tangy/nippy spices, more of that chocolate, it's almost chocolate and chilli, with roasted figs and damson jam

Grows and grows, huge sweetness and punchy spices
