Robert Graham / Robert Graham

Hoebeg (Robert Graham) Review

Hoebeg (Robert Graham) Hoebeg is a single malt from an unnamed Islay distillery and is bottled by Robert Graham, a small independent bottler and retailer with shops in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cambridge and London.

This single malt has won awards in the past including Gold from the International Spirits Competition and I was really excited to give it a try and see what it was about.

Now that's what a session dram should taste like, the smoke if fruity, berries and raspberry fruits, almost shisha on the nose and palate and lots of buttery oiliness.

Very very drinkable and one I could easily drink several bottles of.

Available to buy online from Robert Graham.

Thanks to Robert Graham for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Sweet fruity smoke, raspberry smoke, really sweet like a raspberry filled BBQ smoke, creamy sweetness underlying, citrus notes, buttery and oily, raspberry yoghurt and dried berries and banana chips.

Palate

Fresh sweet smoke, it's fruity, a bit like shisha smoke, raspberry and dried summer berries, oily waxy and really buttery, touches of spice creeping in too.

Finish

Light fresh smoke and tangy spice, light and sweet, very drinkable
