SMWS 128.6 Rumbling Reverberating Resonances Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society This Scotch Malt Whisky Society 128.6 Rumbling reverberating resonances is a Welsh whisky matured in a first full ex Madeira wine cask and I'm expecting it to be filled with fruity juicy sweet notes and maybe a dash or three of spice.

This is very drinkable but has some great unusual notes mixing sweet fruitiness and powerful spicy meaty notes, a real meal in a glass this is a dram that would be great to try to match with food.

Sweet enough for me to love it, spicy enough for me to want to add water to tame it, this is definitely the type of dram I love and want to spend more time with.

As always The Scotch Malt Whisky Society show the wonders of single cask whiskies, why would you not be a member when you get to access drams like this.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Tangy and spicy initially, I almost sneezed with the alcohol bio, then there's a juicy sweet juicy note from the Madeira cask, Demerara coated plums with a sprinkle of cinnamon, Moroccan tagine chicken spicy and sweet, served on a leather plate with some dark chocolate melting on top,

Palate

Sweet and sour chicken tagine with an extra kick of nutmeg and cinnamon, sweet juicy fruits and fresh and freshly polished, using beeswax, mahogany furniture with a leather chamois and pepper tang on the tongue

Finish

Tangy, peppery and really sweet, lovely stuff
