Lagavulin 8 Year Old Review

Lagavulin 8 Year Old This is the limited edition 200th anniversary bottling of an 8 year old which I was really excited about trying so when the opportunity to get some for myself I jumped at it.

I'm hoping for this to be that locket sweet yummy peat that I love and not a dark earthy peat, fingers crossed.

This is yummy, it's really a cross between the fruity smoke that i wanted and the huge smokey powerhouse that I'm not normally as keen on, this is a real combination of powerful smoke and sweet jammy fruitiness.

This is utterly delicious and very much a good combination of sweet fruity and powerful heady peat monsters, this will fill both people expectations lovely stuff.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Oh yummy it's that sweet gentle peat with a fabulous plummy rich juiciness that really works well, quite easy on the nose definitely not too heavy, it's lightly oily and sweet.

Palate

Wow that's a huge hit of smoke there then it softens out sweet and juicy with a lovely soft and gentle rich dark deep fruitiness, like damson jam and sweet smoked fruits

Finish

Rich powerful and jammy, lasts forever
